A Share from our Winter CSA
The winter CSA is probably our favorite part of the farming year. It was one of our main goals when starting the farm and while it is challenging, it is so rewarding to have fresh green produce coming out of the high tunnels during the winter months. We also offer a Chicken and/or egg add on if you would like.
What to expect
During the winter we can grow a variety of greens: leaf and head lettuce, arugula, kale, chard, bok choy, mustard, dandelion greens, spinach and more in our unheated high tunnels. Besides the freshly harvested produce, you may also receive storage crops such as potatoes, onions, garlic, beets, brussels sprouts, and cabbage. You may see shoots and microgreens such as radish and broccoli microgreens and sunflower and pea shoots and there is always the possibility of some unexpected surprises as we are always trying new items for winter growing.

How it works
CSA pickups occur every two weeks from November 9-March 15. It is a Saturday pickup between 10AM-2PM at the farm in Rosendale. There are two different share sizes which are explained below. Full shares will be boxed up when you arrive and we ask that you bring your own bags to transport your veggies to their new home. Half shares will already be packed in a large paper bag that you can bring home.
What is in a share and what is the cost?
We are keeping the prices for the shares the same as last year. However, if you are paying by card or PayPal, we needed to add a 3% credit card fee to the total, so the prices below are if you pay by cash or check, the prices at the bottom of the page have the fee added. We are more than happy to accept payment at the Rosendale Farmers Market or by Mail (see below)
Full Share $550 – A full share contains 8-10 items. An item may be 2 lbs of potatoes, a large bag of lettuce, a head of bok choy or ½ pound of spinach. The quantities of each item is usually larger than the half share.
Half Share $300- A half share generally contains 5-7 items, and they are sometimes smaller quantities of each item as compared to the full share.
Egg Add On $70– Hudson Valley Heirloom Farms is supplying the eggs for our CSA this season and you will get a dozen farm fresh eggs at every pickup.
Chicken Add On 250– Colden Springs Farm will be supplying the chickens this year. You will get a delicious free range bird at every pickup. Please be aware that there is a limited number of chickens available this season.
